By turning the handle at hand, it is possible to move the sample position away from the measurement position (toward the back of the device). Additionally, a counter is attached to the shaft, allowing for easy positioning by reading the scale. The angle of the sample can be finely adjusted by micro-adjusting the rotating stage at the bottom of the sample holder.
